채플란시 석사과정 준비
They and some of our WBS alumni are designing new methods for teaching the modern and practical Won Buddhist dharma to Americans, and they work hard to improve their English.
They meet with the American members of the Philadelphia Won Buddhist temple and share their experiences and ideas about the Threefold Practice and the Truth of Il-Won-Sang and other teachings of Master Sotaesan.
At the Won Dharma Center in September, Americans from Won Buddhist temples across America met each other for the first time and were inspired by the joy and hope they shared, and their love for the kyomunims who are teaching them the Way.
Our newest kyomunim at the Institute, Wonkwang Lee, has wonderful creative ideas for arts and cultural events to publicize the name of Won-Buddhism, provide service and edification to the public, and raise funds for the Won Institute.
Next year, we will start the WBS Chaplaincy master's degree program, training Americans in the Won-Buddhist way of compassion and comfort for those who are ill or dying. In time, the American Won-Buddhist sangha will include many sincere practitioners with right livelihood doing service to society. We invite your good wishes and prayers for this good work.
미주선학대학원대학교에 근무하는 원불교인들은 미국에서의 원불교 미래를 꿈꾸고 이야기 합니다.
여기서 수학하는 예비교무들은 미국 종교문화의 중요한 경향에 대하여 함께 연구를 합니다. 원불교학과 재학생들과 일부 졸업생들은 미국인들에게 현대적이고 실제적인 원불교 진리를 가르치기 위해서 새로운 방법들을 연마하면서 동시에 자신들의 영어실력 향상을 위해 노력합니다.
그들은 원불교 필라교당에 다니는 미국 교도들을 만나 삼학 수행과 일원상 진리를 비롯한 소태산대종사님의 가르침들에 대해서 터득한 자신들의 체험과 생각들을 전합니다.
지난해 9월에 원다르마 센터에서 미국의 여러 교당에서 온 미국인 교도들이 처음으로 한자리에서 만났고 각자가 경험한 기쁨과 희망을 서로 나누면서 함께 고무되었습니다.
미주선학대학원에 최근에 부임한 이원광교무는 대단히 창조적인 아이디어를 가지고 있어 원불교라는 이름을 대중화하는 예술행사와 문화 이벤트에 기여하고 대중들을 위해 봉사하고 교화를 할 것이며 그리고 미주선학대학원을 위해 발전기금 모금을 위한 활동을 할 것입니다.
내년에는 원불교학과에서 미국인을 원불교 방식으로 아프거나 죽음을 맞이하는 사람들에게 위안을 주고 자비심을 베풀도록 훈련하는 채플란시 석사과정 프로그램을 시작할 것입니다.
때가 되면 미국인 원불교 공동체에는 사회에 봉사하는 올바른 직업을 가진 많은 진실한 수행자들로 채워질 것입니다. 이 거룩한 뜻이 성취되도록 많은 분들의 큰 성원과 기도를 기대합니다.
